Robert William Thompson's Obituary
Robert William Thompson was born on March 4th, 1943, in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was the 6th of 12 children to the late Timothy and Jennie (Robertson) Thompson. "Bobby" as he was affectionately called transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on November 8th, 2024.
He joined the Marines on July 6th, 1960 and served for 20 years. During his military career he was awarded a Purple Heart with a Combat V. From there he worked faithfully for The United States Postal Service for 23 years.
He met his lovely wife, Valeria in San Diego, CA. They married on November 24th, 1972, and spent 50 beautiful years together. Robert enjoyed teaching and attending bible study. He loved spreading the gospel, traveling, fishing and spend time with his family. Especially with two of his great grandchildren he got to spend time with often, Leaha and Eric Brown Jr.
He leaves to celebrate his life, his devoted wife Valeria Thompson. His loving daughters Toyoa Thompson-Milner (Cedric), and Jackie McDonald (Eugene). Two sisters Geneva Eldridge and Diane Clark. Seven grandchildren Ommi, Lakhante, Cekari and Amirra (Milner), and Hazim, Rasheen, and Shala (McDonald). And a host of other relatives and friends.
Predeceased by William Shockley, Mary Stewart, Betty Moat, Dolores Lytle, Albert Thompson, Barbara Jones, Eugene Thompson, LarryThompson, Trudy Thompson. Leaves to mourn Geneva Eldridge, Diane Taylor.
