Roberta King Kemper's Obituary
Roberta King Kemper was born on March 7, 1923 in Grandfield, Oklahoma, and passed away at 93, at her home in El Cajon, CA, with family at her bedside on September 19, 2016. She was a San Diego resident for 72 years. Roberta was the youngest of six children of Isaac Monroe and Birdie King. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Ivan; son, Robert Van Kemper (wife, Sandra, deceased); and, daughter, Sunday Lou (Kemper) Berry.She is survived by daughter, Roberta Ann Kemper, of Santee, CA; granddaughter, Lisa McLauchlan (Todd) of Lake Havasu City, AZ; granddaughter, Kym Witek, of Santee, CA; grandson, John Kraft Kemper, of Dallas, TX; grandson, Noah Campbell, of Grass Valley, CA; grandson, Ryder Campbell (Julie Hubble) of Seattle, WA; one great-granddaughter, three great-grandsons, one great-great-granddaughter, and other family members and friends. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Healthy Living at Home, for their compassionate nurses, Victoria and Joy; and, to Riki, a physical therapist with a loving heart. Also, sincere appreciation to Sandy, who never said no to helping, day or night, for this last year. Roberta was loved by many, especially her “adopted” daughter, Donna Eberle, who was a smiling face and helping hand for 17 years. The family is forever grateful for Donna’s loyalty and love for her “other mom.” Roberta was a strong woman, a powerful, loving influence in each of our lives, and we will miss her. Services are scheduled for Saturday, October 1, in the Garden Chapel, Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, with a Visitation at 1:00 pm, Funeral Service at 2:00 pm, and Committal Service at 3:00 pm.
