In Loving Memory of Roberto Catarino Marquez ("Chito") December 30, 1979 – July 7, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our eldest son, Roberto Catarino Marquez, known as "Chito," whose life was taken far too soon at the age of 46.
Chito was a son, brother, nephew, partner, father, cousin, and friend. Of all the roles he held throughout his life, being a father was the one he treasured most. His love for his two sons, Robert Marquez (9) and Lorenzo Marquez (7), was unconditional and unwavering. They were the greatest joy of his life and truly the center of his world.
Known for his humble spirit, gentle nature, and kind heart, Chito found happiness in life's simple blessings. He possessed a quiet strength that drew people to him and a genuine warmth that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A devoted fan of the San Diego Padres, Chito also found great joy in cooking and music. Whether, reading scriptures from his bible, listening to timeless classics or relaxing to the soothing rhythms of reggae, music reflected his easygoing spirit and peaceful soul.
Although his life was tragically cut short, the love he gave, the memories he created, and the example he set will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, compassion, and love will forever be cherished, and his memory will remain a source of strength, comfort, and inspiration to those whose lives he touched.
Chito will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his parents, Virginia Lopez and Robert Marquez Sr.; his partner, Keanna Flores, the mother of his sons, Robert and Lorenzo; his siblings, Celina Marie Marquez, Pedro David Marquez, and Gabriel Lorenzo Marquez; his extended family; and the many friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, generosity, and friendship.
Chito's memory will forever remain a source of love, strength, and comfort to all who carry him in their hearts.
