Rodolfo Molarto Hilarbo's Obituary
We are heartbroken and devastated to announce that Rodolfo “Rudy” Molarto Hilarbo, age 83, passed away on April 26, 2026 in his family home in San Diego, California.
Rodolfo was a loving manong, papa, and “grampa”. Born to the late Mansueta Molarto and Nicanor Hilarbo in 1942 in Dueñas, Iloilo, Rodolfo was the third oldest sibling in his family. He had six siblings: Nene, Tony, Candelaria Sonia, Marlene, Reynor, and Josie. He is survived by his four children: Roderick Sr., Randy, Desiree, and Randolf; his three grandchildren: Destiney, Roderick Jr., and Rance Ysabellia. He is also survived by numerous loving family members in California, Oklahoma, New York, Canada, and the Philippines.
Rodolfo was a jack-of-all-trades, finding work in every industry. From being a line cook to working at a golf club factory, Rodolfo was extremely proud of his work. He was a provider, putting food on the table for his entire family. He always saw his resilience and resolve as his greatest achievement, and for his entire life. He was a humble man. And to his family, the strongest man they knew. If there was any man who could navigate any hardship in life, it was him. He always talked about his days in the workforce as something he was blessed to do and a brand new story to tell. Rodolfo’s life revolved around family, committing his life to hard work to support them.
Rodolfo is remembered as a man full of love. He loved watching basketball, fishing with his grandchildren, riding his bike, listening to music on his boombox, and cooking for his family. Throughout his life, he filled rooms with laughter and joy, always having a story to tell. He lived a full life, one that he always expressed appreciation for.
Rodolfo will be dearly missed.
