Rolland G. Hammerness' Obituary
Rolland G Hammerness passed away peacefully in Escondido on June 21, 2015. Rolland was born to Carl and Gabriella on November 12, 1928 in Glasgow Montana, and was the 4th of 6 children. He attended Glasgow Highschool and later The University of Montana and Wartburg Seminary where he earned a Masters in Pharmacology and a Doctorate of Divinity. After graduation he began a career as a Pharmacist with a five year hiatus as a Luteran pastor. He retired in 2000 after serving for 48 years. After retirement he was involved in the Anza Borrego Foundation, The Retail Clerks Union and SD Lawn Bowling. Rolland was married to his first wife and the mother of his five children Avis E.Thomas. His second spouse was Nancy J. McCaslin and his third marriage was to Gwenda Oesch. Robert was single at the time of his passing, and very much enjoyed the company of his friends Eddie RInks, Dick Kirby and Don Goodwin. Rolland was a driven, passionate, intelligent, active naturalist who loved sports, camping, music like Chopin and classical as well as building and reading. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
