It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rolland James Johnson, who departed this life on November 9th, 2024, at the age of 82. Born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Rolland was the cherished son of Roland and Esther Johnson and was raised alongside his siblings, Rosalind, Mark, and Jean.
Rolland’s journey began with his graduation from Brighton High School in 1961, after which he bravely served in the army. His time stationed in Italy was marked by a significant life event when he met and married his first wife, Liliana Aliprandi, in 1965. Together, they welcomed two children, Sherrie and Roberta. After their divorce, Rolland found love again with Mary Esther Johnson, whom he married in 1994. He played a vital role in raising his three stepchildren, Dante, JJ, and Jessica.
Rolland dedicated his career to Immigration and Naturalization Services, where he worked tirelessly and with great passion. After many years of service, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and integrity.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Esther Johnson, his sister Rosalind, his brother Mark, his great-granddaughter Keevah, his son in law Lamont and his beloved wife, Mary Esther.
Rolland is survived by his sister Jean, his children Sherrie and Roberta, son in law Luis, his stepchildren Dante, JJ, and Jessica, his grandchildren Christina, Kayla, Cassandra, Portia, Joseph, Ruth, Lucy, Hazel and Grant, his great-grandchildren Jayden, Nalia, Genevieve, Bella, Amelia, and Mateo. He is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rolland’s life was a testament to love, family, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
