In Loving Memory of Ronald George Braun
Ronald George Braun, born on June 7, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was the beloved son of Theodore Daniel and Gladys Ruth Ellen (Vause) Braun. He had four siblings: Teddy, Wayne, Dorothy, and Gloria.
At the age of 18, Ronald proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War. After his service, he met his one true love, Irene Louise Wasner and within 3 months they were married in Las Vegas Nevada on July 4, 1957. They were married over 61 years when his wife passed away in 2018. He had a large loving family who brought him enormous joy. He was blessed with 8 very talented and accomplished children; Diana, Ronald, Joanne, Derek, Philip, Vicki, Marie, and Michael.
He worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft before beginning his career in the shipbuilding industry for Owens Corning Fiberglass.
He enjoyed family parties, television, sports, (boxing, bowling, golf, basketball, baseball). walking, gambling, anything fun, listening to Elvis, gardening (lots of watering) and some traveling. He was fondly known as “good guy Ron”, and was a devoted father, loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his eight children, 21 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his spirit and memories.
Ronald passed away on March 6, 2025, in Escondido, California, at the age of 90. His memorial service and burial with military honors took place on March 21, 2025 at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, California. Ronald and Irene Braun are buried together at Greenwood Memorial Park.
