Ronald G. Unkefer born on January 23, 1935 in Vancouver, Washington to parents George Unkefer and Beatrice Stone, entered into rest on July 22, 2022 in San Diego, California. A resident of San Diego for over 80 years. As a young boy he attended San Diego Naval Academy and graduated from Hoover High School in 1953. A respected and Loving friend, husband, and father. He worked for SDG&E for 40 years, starting out digging ditches, climbing poles, teaching apprentices and running the Transmission Dept. He married his love Jenean Eleanor Putman and they would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this September. Together they raised a family of two daughters: Cheryl Mathiasen and Karen Unkefer. Ron loved spending time with his four grandsons, Christopher Groll, Craig Groll, Jeremy Franklyn, and Jeffrey Unkefer and his two great grandchildren, Savannah and Jack. Everyone one of them enjoyed horseback rides from Grandpa throughout the years! Ron loved spending time creating in his woodshop and made toys for many charities at Christmas. Family was always number one for Ron. It is evident that he will forever be missed yet never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.
