Ruth Ester Jones' Obituary
Ruth Ester Jones, 89 of San Diego California passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2019 with family present. She was born in Taft, Texas to Roy McIntyre and Cora Davis. She was the only daughter and had seven brothers whom have all predeceased her. She met and married Evangelist James E. Jones in Lovington, New Mexico in 1973 and shortly thereafter moved to San Diego. They both became members of St. Stephen’s Church Of God In Christ under Bishop George D. McKinney. Elder Jones predeceased her in 2002 after thirty years of marriage. Mother Jones participated in many church activities as well as serving as a member of the Barnabas Committee. Mother Jones leaves behind five children: Marsha Lawrence (San Diego), Wanda Hackett (Fluegerville TX, John Warren (San Diego), Ramona Bowden (San Diego) and Ray Kelley II, also of San Diego. Also left to cherish her memory are a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
