Ruth Marie Taylor's Obituary
Deaconess Ruth Marie Taylor was born on December 30, 1938 in Sherman, Texas to William and Stella Bryant. She was the youngest daughter in a family of 6 children who were reared in the church from an early age. Serving God and attending church were of paramount importance to her and she instilled these values in her children. She married her high school sweetheart right out of high school and settled in Southern California in the late 50’s as a Navy wife. She began working as a licensed vocational nurse in the early sixties at Sharp Memorial Hospital and worked there until the birth of her youngest child. She started working for General Dynamics in the early seventies as an office worker and retired from General Dynamics some 34 years later. Being a caregiver was a natural part of her and she continued in that capacity providing loving care to a couple of long-term patients for a number of years after retirement. She loved her church and served for many years with the food bank and as a Deaconess along with her husband, Deacon Raymond E. Taylor. She also cherished the role of mother serving with the PTA, and other community service organizations associated with her children when possible. As much as she loved being a mother, she absolutely adored being a grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Geneva and Theresa, brothers, Billy and Wilbur and loving husband of 55 years, Raymond. On Thursday January 24, 2019, Ruth Marie Taylor was called home to be with the Lord. She leaves behind to meet again, her brother Clifford Bryant; her son, Raymond E. Taylor Jr., daughter Sheryl Aryeetey, son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kabirah Taylor; grandchildren, Michael and Mary Jackson, Kamille and Kalila Taylor, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and many dear friends who will mourn her passing, yet celebrate her life.
