Sangim Koung's Obituary
Mrs. Sangim Koung passed away on the 10th day of March 2023. She was born to the late Mr. Koung and Mrs. Pam Thach in Cambodia on January 2nd, 1924.
She grew up in a farmer's family in Battambang province, Cambodia. Mrs. Sangim married Mr. Pho Ouk (deceased) in their late 20s and were parents to Kimhov Ouk, Channa Ouk, Reang Ouk, Rey Ouk, Chanry Ouk (deceased), Sdoeung Ouk, and Samath Ouk.
In 1979 Mrs. Sangim Koung and her family relocated to settle in the refugee camp along the Khmer-Thai borders, then taken by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to the Kao-I-Dang refugee camp. In 1984, Mrs. Sangim Koung and her family were sponsored by World Relief to reside in the United States of America.
She is survived by six children, 24 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sangim Koung’s favorite activities were traveling and visiting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved to attend her Buddhist belief’s various functions.
