Sharon Ann Rhoades' Obituary
Sharon Ann Rhoads, 81, of San Diego, passed away peacefully at her home on February 4, 2026, with her family by her side.
Sharon was born July 19, 1944, in San Diego, California the daughter of V.C. and Elenora Edens. She graduated from Hoover High School. She married DeWain Rhoads May 18, 1968. The family, church family, and many friends, have lost a wonderful human being.
Her passions included sewing, crafting, reading, watching Hallmark movies and HGTV, cooking/baking, traveling and cruises to Alaska, and visiting friends in different cities/states. Sharon loved serving other people at church and in her community. She lived to make others smile. Her sense of humor and love of life will be greatly missed.
After High School Sharon began her career working at the Education Center in University Heights. A few years after marrying the love of her life DeWain at the El Cajon Blvd. Church of Christ, she dedicated her life to raising her two children, David and Melissa. After her kids left the house, she went back to her career in education as a Health Aid in San Diego City Schools for 15 years.
Her love of crafts was evident with her years long participation in the San Diego Christian Foundation Craft Home Tour. After retirement Sharon continued in her reading passion and participated in Book Clubs throughout the years. She and her husband loved to travel and some favorite places to visit were, Kawaii, Oahu, and the Big Island of Hawaii.
Her smile and sense of humor can never be replaced. Sharon was one of a kind. Those who will miss Sharon include her husband DeWain, daughter- Melissa Boney along with her sons Gabriel and Alex, son - David Rhoads and his wife Gracie, Brother- Ron and his wife Dianne, along with their daughter Julie, and a host of close friends and other family members that include in-laws, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and her Rainbow Girl sisters.
Service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held at Canyon View Church of Christ on March 7th, at 2pm. Viewing will be at Greenwood Memorial Park on February 23, 9:30-1:00 In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation directed to the American Cancer Society or St Jude.
