Sherwin Earl Kimble's Obituary
The eldest of two siblings, Sherwin was born to Levell and Lucy Kimble in San Diego, California. He developed an early sense of business and determination for personal achievement from his mother, and a love of music from his father. Sherwin took several years of piano lessons, which led to him playing keyboard during his teen years in The Dynamics, a local band. Sherwin attended and graduated from Morse High School, where he was senior class president. He went on to attend the University of California at San Diego and graduated with honors earning a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature, and a Masters of Business Administration in Management Science. This led to Sherwin’s career as an accomplished executive with the title of Human Resources Director and Vice-President of several businesses. He later met the love of his life, Patricia Monta̴ño, and they were joined in holy matrimony on July 22, 2000. Soon they moved into a lovely loft home near Little Italy with beautiful views of San Diego Bay. There they enjoyed the urban lifestyle that living downtown would afford them. The lure of travel was always calling, and they created fond memories of their trips together. They traveled to many US cities, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Of all the places they visited, Sherwin especially enjoyed the sunny weather and warm water of the Caribbean Islands.Sherwin was a loving person, with a great sense of humor, and a quiet dignity. Simply stated, Sherwin had class, and showed it in his appreciation of art, real jazz and old classic movies. Sherwin fought and won his first bout with cancer. During this time he grew even closer to his family and friends. He mustered the faith to face his 2nd round of cancer. Sadly, Sherwin succumbed to his courageous fight with the disease on the morning of February 19th. He is survived by his wife, father, sister, children, grandchildren, mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a host of loving relatives and friends. Two smiling eyes are sleeping, two busy hands are still. The one we love so deeply is resting at God’s will. May he always walk in sunshine, God’s love around his glow. For all the happiness he gave us, only a few will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose him but he did not go alone. For part of us went with him the day God called him home.
