Sidney E. Bigler's Obituary
Sidney Edsil Bigler passed away at the age of 102 in San Diego, California on January 23rd, 2019. He was born on August 9, 1916 in Central, Arizona. where he lived until he married Cula Burrell on March 12,1937 in the Mesa Temple Mesa Arizona. He was the 3rd child of 12 Children. After his education, he worked as a general handyman for several years. Then he became an Agricultural Inspector at the Arizona/California border. He and his wife lived in Yuma AZ. While there he was drafted into the US Navy, and became a second-class fireman, for the last nine months of WW-ll. After the Navy he and his family moved to California, where he became a general contractor. After working for his self for another 25 years he decided to retire. He was 72 years old when he retired. Sid as he liked to be called, believed in hard work and working hard. He enjoyed helping others. He and his wife served an 18 month long work/service mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Winter Quarters, Nebraska. He liked to play the harmonica and tell stories from his past. Sid and Cula had 5 children. He was proceeded in death by his wife Cula Bigler, 3 children, CulaAnn Katzky, Larry Bigler, and Maxine Vallieres. and 1 grandson Stephen Garner. He is Survived by His Eldest son Jerry Bigler and one daughter Laura Huskey. 25 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great children.The family will be having services at their church ward on Saturday the 2nd of February, 2019.
