Sonja Parsons' Obituary
Sonja Elaine Parsons (nee Thompson) from Kapolei, Hawaii, was called to heaven at 11:40pm October 22nd, 2017 in San Diego. She is rejoined with many loved ones, including her father Vern Thompson, stepfather John Trenholm, her sister Kathleen Thompson, daughter Julianne Parsons, and the Messiah. She is survived by her husband and soulmate Paul Parsons; her mother Lucille Trenholm; her stepmother Shirley Thompson; her sisters and brother, Julia Stach, Lisa Thompson, Gina Thompson-Smith and Matt Thompson; her children, Beth Ladwig, Chris Ladwig, Jordan Parsons and Nicholas Parsons; and her grandson Alika Parsons. She is also survived by an extended family including her nieces and nephews, Rebecca (and her husband Joe and daughter Maebelline), Courtney (and her husband David), Adam Athearn, Anton Thompson, and Heidi Smith. Sonja was a proud graduate of Lawton High School, Class of 1972. Services were held at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego on October 28th at 4pm, with interment at Miramar National Cemetery on October 31st at 1:30pm. She was a loving and honorable daughter, fierce mother, incredible artist, proud civil servant and military spouse, devoted wife and homemaker, and dedicated home school educator. Her endless love, contagious hugs, infectious laugh and radiant smile will be missed by all.
