Spencer Love Sr.'s Obituary
Spencer Love Sr. was born to Nathaniel Love Sr. and Laura Theus in Ringgold, Louisiana on April 24th, 1926. Spencer moved to San Diego, California after graduating from high school. He began a career as an Aeronautical Mechanic at North Island Naval Air Station, becoming the first African American General Foreman. Spencer was dedicated to his family. He traveled extensively with his family to go camping, fishing, and going on other outdoor adventures. He loved attending the sports activities of his grandchildren. He was adored by his great-great grandchildren as well. Spencer was the heart and soul of his family; he was the best man to ever walk this earth.Spencer was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Mrs. Ernestine T. Love, and also by seven of his siblings. He leaves behind to mourn and cherish his memory: his son, Spencer Love Jr., and his special daughter, Gwendolyn V. Kirksey; 5 grandchildren, Lori Goodwill, Yana Raboteau (Cedric), Rona Johnson (Adrian), Mary Gardner (Darrell), and Stacey Green; 16 great-grandchildren, Reginald Carr Jr., Twaniesha Davis, John McCartney III, Re’Tisha Moore, Edward Crenshaw Jr., Bria Evans, Tre’Vion Simmons, Jalen McCastle, D’Angelo Gardner, Marquise Deere, Zayne Green, Tony Green Jr., Tavaris Green, Demarreon Green, Denasia Green, and Deonte Green; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends will also cherish his memory.
