Stella Angeles' Obituary
Stella Angeles October 4, 1926 – August 7, 2017 Stella Angeles, beloved mother, Yiayia, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2017. Stella was an active member of her church and participated in many social activities within the Greek community. Stella married James Angeles in 1952 and as an Army wife, she became a pro at “holding down the fort” when James was stationed out of the country. She was the consummate hostess who loved throwing large family parties and bringing together her kids’ friends. She always shared delicious food and a welcoming smile. Stella was a “soccer mom” before the term even existed. She supported all of her kids’ activities including sports, scouts, drill team, youth groups, and Greek dance. As Mom and Yiayia, she provided strength and stability with a good dose of discipline. Emily Post Etiquette was her guidebook and she instilled the values of good manners, generosity, and kindness to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Ted, Connie (Dan), Stephanie (Bill) and Irene, grandchildren James (Tatum), Victoria, John, Carly and Marina, great grandson Theo, sister Teddy, brother Bill (Brigid), and many nieces and nephews. Trisagion memorial service will be at 7:00pm on Tuesday, August 15th, 2017 at Greenwood Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017 at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 3655 Park Boulevard, San Diego. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Spyridon or Sharp Hospice are welcome.
