Teresa Ramirez Peña's Obituary
Teresa de Jesus Peña Ramirez was born on February 5, 1929 in Mascota, Jalisco, Mexico to Parents Gabina Arechiga and Jose Ramirez Lopez. Mami Tere, as she was affectionately called by her entire family, left this Earth on October 30, 2023 in her home in Chula Vista, CA. She was surrounded by all her children in those tender last few breaths as she left us to join her loving husband, Antonio Peña. They were married for over 66 years and had seven children together.
Mami Tere was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother as well as Tia to a huge Mexican family. She was a respected member of the church and represented her community as an official with Las Guadalupanas for several decades. She was so much more than a full-time homemaker. She was a source of light and inspiration to many generations, with her infectious smile and kind words of hope and love. The cariño she showered us with will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her children: Francisco Peña, Xochitl Aranzubia, Manuel Peña, Antonio Peña Jr., Catalina Lopez, Juan Peña and Rogelio Peña. She leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Mami Tere will always be remembered for her love and tenderness to anyone who was lucky enough to encounter her. We will miss her dearly, but are happy to share her once again with Papi Toño. We love you Mami Tere! Until we meet again, Rest In Peace.
