Celebrating the Life of Thomas “Tommy” Lee Kolasz
1939-2024
Thomas was born on March 19, 1939, in Little Rock Arkansas. His family moved to California where he graduated from Helix High School.
Thomas passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones in his home in La Mesa California on February 8, 2024, at the age of 84.
He was married to the love of his life and best friend Jackie until her passing in 2020.
After graduating from High School, he became an apprentice with Kitzman Plumbing and he made a career of his trait also working for Bechtel at the San Onofre power plant where he retired as a pipe fitter supervisor and then went on to work for Home Depot in the plumbing department.
Some of his favorite things to do where traveling with Jackie, watching every Padre game and sitting on his back patio enjoying the beauty that surrounded his beautiful home until his last day, the sunsets made him so excited and you always got a new sunset on that blank canvas every evening.
Tommy is proceeded in death by his beautiful wife Jackie Kolasz, Father John M. Kolasz and Mother Genevieve Barrios Kolasz and his only sister Maryellen.
Tommy is survived by his only brother John Kolasz, daughter Kerri and son-in-law Mike Owens, daughter Wendy and son-in-law Brad Hanna, daughter Julie Kolasz and Son Thomas E. Kolasz, grandchildren Tori and Eric Farmer, Matt Owens and T.K. great-grandchild Makenzie Farmer. With his passing he leaves behind many Uncles, Aunts, Cousin and Friends that will miss his sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held at Greenwood Mortuary on February 27, 2024. Viewing will be from 9-10 am and services will be from 10-11 am.
