Thomas Rohm was many things to many people. For me and my family, he was Pastor. We say under his teachings for many years and were blessed to work alongside him as well. He continually impressed upon us the importance of God's Word. He loved the Lord and the things of the Lord, and he will not be forgotten as he has had an impact in our lives.
Our prayers continue for Merry, Tiffany, Stacey, and the extended family. He was a pillar, and as such it must be an overwhelming time for you all. May God's grace be upon you all and felt in ways that make known His lovingkindness in this difficult season.
My first cousin, Thomas had a variety of careers, and found the one he loved later in life, as a teacher of the Bible and a pastor. The obituary says little about his various careers other than pastoring. Earlier, he managed a Putt-Putt Golf Course on Long Island for some years, even going on the professional putting circuit. For a time he was an artist in oils, mainly abstracts. He was also, in his time, a fine athlete, with a tryout [based on his high school play] with the Columbus Jets triple A professional baseball team. I remember seeing a scrapbook with a story about a high school basketball game: "Tom Rohm bombs for 31" and there were numerous articles about his exploits on the court. The first time he played golf he shot 84 as I recall, whereas 95% of the golfers in America have never shot 84.
