Tony Gasparovic's Obituary
Anthony L Gasparovic, longtime resident of Lakeside, CA died on December 27, 2014 at the age of 85. Born in North Tarrytown, NY he was the son of Anthony and Mary (Sles) Gasparovic. After graduating from St.Anne’s Academy in New York and serving in the United States Navy from 1946-1951, he settled in San Diego, CA with his wife, Della. Tony was a caring husband, father and grandfather, who also served Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church as a deacon for several decades, in addition to spearheading community -based program S.H.A.R.E.,(Self-Help and Resource Exchange). He served his community as a founding member of the Big Brothers of San Diego County, Inc. and was honored as Big Brother of the Year in 1964. His career was with General Dynamic and General Atomic as a Research and Development Technical Scientist from 1951 until his retirement in the late 1980’s.Tony was the husband of Della (Bingham) Gasparovic and father to Patti Anderlohr, who both predeceased him in 1997 and 2012, respectively.He is survived by his sisters, Louise Green, Terese Malone and Joan Kiselak, formerly of Tarrytown, NY.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. His charitable nature and swift wit will be missed.His Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lakeside, CA on January 10, 2015 at 9:30am with interment to follow at 2:15pm in Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, CA.In lieu of flowers, Mr. Gasparovic’s family would ask that you instead make a donation in his name to Children International. https://www.children.org
