Veda Marie Hansen's Obituary
Veda Hansen, 94, passed away from natural causes on December 24th, 2023. Veda was born on November 8th, 1929, in Oklahoma. At the age of 20, she moved to San Diego. She became employed by Rohr Industries in Chula Vista where she met the love of her life, John. They were married May 7th, 1949, a marriage that lasted 70 years. They purchased a home in National City, where Veda's responsibilities transitioned into being a full time house wife and mother raising their four children. In 1975, Veda and John built their dream home in Jamul, CA. With their children grown and gone from home, Veda became employed again and worked as a caregiver in the El Cajon area. Upon John's retirement in 1990, she did what they both loved most, working on and around their property in Jamul. They were inseparable until John's passing in 2019. Veda was greatly loved and is survived by her children: Michael, Dana (Julie); her seven grandchildren: Derelynn, Staci, Nathan, Jeffrey, Melissa, Sophia and Victor. Her great-grandchildren: Spencer, Gage, Adam, Ella, Cole and her great-great-grandson, Salem (1 year). Veda was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Pat in 2021 and her youngest son, Jeff, in 1987. She will be greatly missed by all.
