Victoria Louise Davis' Obituary
Victoria Louise Davis was born in the union of Menefield Davis and Mary Drew Allen in Lisbon Louisiana on January 28, 1935. She was raised in Texarkana Texas where she resided with her parents and 10 siblings. Victoria was the second eldest of her sisters and brothers so at an early age she learned about helping out and responsibility. Victoria attended schools in Texas and soon graduated from Dunbar High School.At the age of 22 years Victoria journey lead her to San Diego in 1958, where she resided with a cousin and helped to raise her children and love by each of them. Shortly after moving to San Diego Victoria started her own family. Vicki, Harold and Darold.Victoria returned to school after working odd jobs. She attended San Diego City College and the Educational Cultural Complex (ECC). She received an education to work with children. So she worked as an instructor with the San Diego Unified School District for 35 years. All while being a loving caring mother.Victoria was raised in church, and she united at Community Missionary Baptist in 1966 under the guides of Dr. Charles E. Gayton. Victoria was a praying woman and strong in her faith, she worked hard and deligiently in the church. She sang in the Choir, but her passion was being on the Usher Board. She loved ushering in souls into the house of the Lord.Victoria was loved by so many, and gave that much love back, and stranger to no one. She love cooking and you could alway find a hot meal at her home, and she didn’t mind feeding whoever would eat, always had encouraging words to say an a beautiful smile came with those words.Victoria retired from San Unified School District, but she didn’t retire from life. She had her hand in raising her grandchildren and greatgrand children where she acquired the new name of “Booky”. She spent loving precious time with them, and they all loved her so much.Victoria health started failing her in 2010 after having a stroke, and she kept on fighting. On November 9, 2017 Victoria heard the Lord call her name and she went home to be with our Heavenly Father.Victoria leaves to carry on her three children: Vicki Y. Davis-Floyd (John), Harld E. Davis, Darold E. Davis (Nikky) six grandchildren Tamiresha Davis, Erica Johnson, Myjah Davis, Dayjah Davis, Alyjah Davis, Micheal Hayes and two greatgrands Tayashana Turner, and Marlin Jackson, one brother Ray Davis, Josephine Hill, Gladys Pops, Mildred Taylor, Mary Alice McDonald, all of Texarkana Texas, Clarease Bunch, Omaha Nebraska, Mae Matlock, San Francisco. Three preceided her home Nathaniel Davis, Jean Davis, and Grover Davis all of Texarkana Texas.
