Vincent James Walsh's Obituary
Vincent J. Walsh of El Cajon passed away peacefully early June 4th. Vincent was born in Buffalo, New York, September 1, 1928. He was married to Elizabeth Jeanne Roberts ( Walsh) for 61 years til her death in 2013. He is survived by his nine children, Therese Walsh of San Diego , Mike Walsh of Riverside, Maureen Regan of Rowlett, Texas, Colleen Keto of Hemet, Susie Dentt of El Cajon, Mary Harris of San Diego, Tom Walsh of Murrieta, Edward Walsh of Del Mar and Sean Walsh of Escondido, 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.Vincent was in the Marine Corp and later on The Marine Corp Reserves from 1948- 1962. He enlisted in the Marine Corp right out of highschool, serving in the tail end of World War 2. He was then called for active duty in 1950 and serving in the Korean War, where he was awarded many medals including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Serving his country was very important to him.After his service to his country, he returned to the University of Buffalo where he received his degree in engineering. In 1956 he was recruited as a young engineer by Rohr Industries and he, his wife and 5 children moved to Riverside, California. He had a 32 year career with Rohr Industries, working his way up to executive positions between Rohr Industries in Riverside and Chula Vista.After his Retirement from Rohr Industries, he joined the La Mesa Senior softball league, playing many hours of one of his favorite sports. He also enjoyed many hours of watching his grandchildren playing various sports.Vince was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and Patriotic American.He was well loved and will be greatly missed.
