I met Rimas 18 years ago when I became an aide in the Basic Ed. classroom at ECC. I spent many hours sitting with him, encouraging him to do his Math! I then became a counselor (a 'funky' counselor to Rimas) and I would start every morning off with a visit from him.....bright and shiny in the morning. We talked about many things over the years......fan blades, drum kits, cymbals, Disneyland, Florida, his Mama, Lithuanian customs, dental chairs, heavy metal music, Zydeco, food, and cats, cats, and more cats. Rimas was a very special person who became a true friend. It's just not the same here at ECC without him. He will be terribly missed!
