Bishop W. Cedric Murphy's Obituary
Bishop W. Cedric Murphy quietly slept away to eternal rest the evening of Wednesday, December 27, 2023, after a very short illness. He is the youngest child of five children of the late Vivian Barham and James H. Murphy, Sr. of Louisville, Kentucky. He accepted Christ at a young age, enjoyed Sunday school and was a regular at Lampton Baptist Church.
Elder C. Murphy was ordained as Assistant Overseer, with God's People in Action Ministries, October 1996 in San Diego, California under leadership of Bishop Edwin C. Peete, Chief Apostle of God's People in Action Ministries (Interdenominational Christian ministry of "helps" to churches, outreaches, and global community). Later, in the ministry Apostle Peete being led by the spirit of the God placed an order of ordination for Overseer C. Murphy to be ordained as Bishop by Bishop Lorenzo Stephanson.
He was also a dedicated state of California parole agent who served in law enforcement for over 25 years. He protected our highways and roads as a California highway parole officer in the Riverside and San Diego county areas.
In the year 2011 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Sharon E Howard. They both shared the same love for God's work. Christian ministry work was their mandate in the kingdom of God, we looked forward to who, how and when needed to assist the ministry or assist precious individual(s) and sometimes we worked together and sometimes God placed us separately but we always discussed what our God purpose and plan was. All to the glory of God!
We the family find joy during our sorrow; for we know that "The Righteous Shall Never Be Forsaken and in the Way of Righteousness is Life; and the Pathway thereof is No Death". He leaves to cherish his memories: wife: Sharon Murphy, one son: Cedric T. Hick-Murphy, two brothers: James H. Murphy, Jr. (wife; Irma), Dwight E. Murphy (preceded him in death), three sisters: LaVoy Randle, (huband: Duane), Kathleen Sims (preceded him in death),(husband: Willie) and sister: Pam Lewis. There are several nieces, nephews, cousins, other very good and faithful church family and friends and neighbors.
