William P. Baker's Obituary
William “Bill” Baker was born on September 8th, 1932 in Altoona, PA where he lived until 1940. His parents were Arnum and Sarah Baker and he was the 1st of 2 children. He attended Sweetwater High School and Undertakers College of Los Angeles. After graduation, he began his career in the U.S. Army, obtaining the rank of Sergeant and after serving for 3 years; he became an embalmer; retiring after 38 years. He lived in National City, CA and married Beth on June 27th, 1959 at Lincoln Acres Community Church. Bill was a member of First Congregational Church of National City and he loved God and His Word; the Bible. He was involved in Gideons International. Bill was joyful, compassionate, generous, friendly and faithful. His most important moments of his life were spent with his family, he was a San Diego Padres Fan and his favorite music was from Bill Gaither. He was survived by his wife, Mary E. Baker; his son; Jim Baker, his daughter; Sarah Hovley, five (5) grand-children, and one (1) great-grandchild.
