William Nicholas Demos' Obituary
William “Billy” Nicholas Demos (1963-2021)
William was known as “Billy” to his family and friends. He was the first born son to John and Rosemarie Demos. Billy was born 05-25-1963 at Mercy hospital in San Diego. He passed away peacefully early Saturday morning on 08-21-2021. He was diagnosed at birth with cerebral palsy and mental retardation. Billy lived his entire life in San Diego at home with his mother and father.
Billy is survived by two younger brothers and their wives (James & Nancy Demos) and (Andrew & Michelle Demos), three nephews (John, Edward and Mateus) and one niece (Alyssa). He also is survived by four first cousins and their families who live locally in and around San Diego. Billy still has many relatives living in Greece, Mexico, Brazil Florida, Illinois, Wisconsin, and other parts of California. Billy was very well loved by family and friends. He made friends very easily because of an engaging smile and pleasant disposition.
Billy attended two schools for the mentally handicapped (Fairhaven and Mission Beach school). He especially loved to paint, play the piano, listen to music on his record player, watch Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Lawrence Welk with his mother on a regular basis. In addition, he also participated in local “Special Olympic” events and later with “Sports for Exceptional Athletes.” Billy enjoyed attending St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and travelling throughout North and South America, the Caribbean and Hawaii with his family.
Viewing/Visitation to be held Tuesday August 31st, 6:00pm -10:00pm at Greenwood Memorial Park & Mortuary
Funeral Service Wednesday September 1st 11:00am at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church; 3655 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92103 followed by burial at Greenwood Memorial Park
