William Henry Holt's Obituary
William Henry Holt was born on December 12, 1924 in Garden Grove, California. His parents were Frank and Edna Holt and he was the 4th of 6 children. After graduation he began a career in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 until 1946, he also served in the Army National Guard from 1948 until 1967, and worked for San Diego Gas & Electric from 1948 until 1983. He retired in 1983 after serving for 35 years. After retirement he liked traveling, camping and fishing. He lived in Newport Beach, Kelsey, and Lemon Grove in California. He married Geneva Darby on June 9th, 1946 in San Diego, CA. He served in the Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946 during WWII. He attained the rank of Corporal and received the following medals: Purple Heart, and while he was in the Army National Guard he became Captain. William Henry Holt was patient, putterer, awesome, independent & loyal. His favorite hobbies and activities were doing crossword puzzles, fishing, growing epiphyllum flowers and reading. His favorite type of music was Country-Western. He was survived by his four (4) children: Claudia Bell, Carol Strauss, William Holt II, and James Holt; and many grand-children and great-grand-children.
