William "Bill" McAlpine's Obituary
William “Bill” Earl McAlpine, passed peacefully on Sunday, October 26th in Chula Vista, California. He was 87.Bill was born Sunday, March 13, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. He served proudly in the United States Navy for 20 years and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and also Kodiak, Alaska. Bill retired in San Diego and raised two daughters. He went on to work for Sears Roebuck and Company for 25 years. Most often Bill could be found kicking up his heals at the West Coast Swing Club with the ladies, bowling with his team, or hanging around the Elks Club. He was known for always having a joke to tell, his zest for life and being a charmer.Bill is survived by his loving daughters Pauline Doran with her husband Joe Doran; Christine Whilden with her husband David Whilden; nephew Thomas Kinsey with his wife Debbie Kinsey; granddaughters Erika Ferreira and Jessica Pollard; great-grand daughter Skylee Morrison, and predeceased by grandsons Jason and Luke Whilden.A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Luke Church in Rancho San Diego on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00am with a reception to follow.
