William J. Pool's Obituary
Patriarch of our family. We called him “PA”. He was a man all men aspire to be. He led an exemplary life of honor, respect, kindness, generosity, wisdom and love. He retained his keen mind and sweet disposition until the very end of his long life. He loved us dearly and deeply and took great joy in being there for all of us. He led us on many a camping, hunting or fishing adventure. He graduated from San Diego High School in 1932. He served the San Diego Fire Dept. for 33 years retiring as Battalion Chief in 1973. During his time with SDFD he was a craftsman who helped build several fire stations. He fought many of the city’s major fires and led his fellow firefighters valiantly. With sunshine streaming into his room he passed away peacefully with his entire family at his side. Predeceased by his beloved wife Margery in 1979. He is survived by his daughters, Frances (John) Francois, Carol (Wayne) Strange and Delores Pickle. Grandchildren, John-O (Ann) Francois, Tiffany (Ronnie) Lechien, Travis (Pleasure) Strange and Shannon Strange. 6 great grandchildren, Lauren, Aubrey and Gabrielle Francois, Jazper, Skyler and Arawyn Strange. Services Friday July 6, 2:00pm Sally Lynn Chapel, Greenwood Memorial Park.
