William Robert Segner III's Obituary
William Robert Segner, better known as Billy/Smash, departed earth’s side on June 22nd, 2024. He was taken from his loved ones at the young age of 38. Billy could be seen every morning walking his loyal companion, his dog Simba, driving up and down with his daughter, or making time for his family and friends.
Billy is survived by his daughter. Azalea, his mother Nohelia, his father William, and his sister Yuridia. Azalea, in addition to being his pride and joy, she was also his best friend. They were so well connected that all they needed to do is look at each other to know what the other was thinking. Making sure that Azalea always had a smile on her face was one of Billy’s daily goals. From his silly raps and his happy feet dances, he was willing to do anything for his best friend. Billy was his parents baby boy, through all the peaks and valleys in the journey of life his parents were there by his side, to pick him up, dust him off, and try to guide him back the right path. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, which we are certain held his hands when he entered the gates of heaven.
Billy had a larger than life personality, there was no topic he could not joke about and a story he could relate it to. He approached every struggle with a smile and a positive attitude. Even on his darkest days, Billy was able to look at the good around him.
In recent years Billy worked hard to turn his life around, and by the grace of our lord his family and friends were able to enjoy the happy go lucky and sweet boy Billy was to his core. He overcame his own struggles, dedicated himself to helping others who were facing the same he had, and was proud of being able to financially supporting his mom. Nearly a month before passing he was able to celebrate his daughter’s quinceañera, bringing all those present to tears because they all know what it took him to achieve this moment.
It brings great sadness that the moment it felt like finally all had changed for the better, Billy was taken away. However, not before teaching us all a valuable lesson, it does not matter how dark your days may get, with perseverance, love, and hope the sun will always come out. Billy’s viewing will be on Greenwood Funeral Home on July 14th at 7pm and he will be taken to his final resting place on July 15th at 10am.

Cada mañana se podía ver a Billy paseando a su fiel compañero, su perro Simba, conduciendo arriba y abajo con su hija, o haciendo tiempo para su familia y amigos.
A Billy le sobreviven su hija Azalea, su madre Nohelia, su padre William y su hermana Yuridia. Azalea, además de ser su orgullo y alegría, también era su mejor amiga. Estaban tan bien conectados que todo lo que tenían que hacer era mirarse para saber lo que estaba pensando el otro. Asegurarse de que Azalea siempre tuviera una sonrisa en su rostro era uno de los objetivos diarios de Billy. Desde sus tontos raps y sus alegres movimientos de baile de pies, estaba dispuesto a hacer cualquier cosa por su persona favorita. Billy era el bebé de sus padres; a través de todos los picos y valles del viaje de la vida, sus padres estuvieron a su lado. Lo levantaban, limpiaban y trataban de guiarlo de nuevo por el camino correcto. Le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos, los cuales estamos seguros lo tomaron de la mano mientras entraba por las puertas del cielo.
Billy tenía una personalidad extraordinaria, no había ningún tema sobre el que no pudiera bromear ni una historia con la que pudiera relacionarse. Abordó cada lucha con una sonrisa y una actitud positiva. Incluso en sus días más oscuros, Billy pudo ver lo bueno que lo rodeaba.
En los últimos años, Billy trabajó duro para cambiar su vida y, por la gracia de nuestro señor, su familia y amigos pudieron disfrutar del niño feliz, afortunado y dulce que Billy era en esencia. Superó dificultades, se dedicó a ayudar a otros que enfrentaban los mismos obstáculos que él y estaba orgulloso de poder apoyar económicamente a su mamá. Casi un mes antes de fallecer pudo celebrar los quince años de su hija, haciendo llorar a todos los presentes, pues todos sabían lo que le costó lograr este momento.
Es muy triste que en el momento en que todos sintieron que las cosas finalmente habían cambiado para mejor, Billy fue arrebatado de su familia. Sin embargo, no sin antes enseñarnos a todos una valiosa lección, no importa cuán oscuros se pongan tus días, con perseverancia, amor y esperanza siempre saldrá el sol. El velorio de Billy será en Greenwood Funeral Home el 14 de julio a las 7 p. m. y lo llevarán a su lugar de descanso terrenal el 15 de julio a las 10 a.m descanse en paz.
