William Roosevelt Thornton's Obituary
William Roosevelt Thornton was born in Kentucky on September 5th, 1934 to his proud parents Lloyd Thomas Thornton and Mary Magdalen Hale of Kentucky. At a young age William met the love of his life, Clara Mae Ambers, whom he married. They were married for 68 beautiful years. From their loving union grew their family. They moved to sunny San Diego, California where he resided for about 55 years. William was an avid golfer as it was one of his favorite past times. William dedicated about 30 years working in carpet installation. William passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2020 in Santee, California. He is predeceased by his parents; Mary Thornton, Lloyd Thornton, his son William "Mike" Thornton, his daughter Deborah Marceau and 6 siblings whom he now joins. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife Clara Mae Thornton, his children; Sherry Jones, Edna Thornton and Mark Thornton, his grand children; Betty McNeely, Christopher Thornton, Claire Davis, William Hobbs, Ronald Joslin Jr, Jacqline Allen, Cynthia Pathel, Nicholas Thornton, Aaron Hoxie, Shean Hoxie and Dan Hoxie, his great grandchildren; Monisha McNeely, Timothy McNeely Jr, Trey McNeely, Alyssa Thornton, Brooke Steavenson, Cymona Abellard, Jonathan Allen, Jazel Hobbs, Cameron Hobbs, Kaylee Hobbs, Lexi Hobbs, William Hobbs Jr, Penelope Hoxie, Avery Hoxie, Ashlyn Hoxie, Colton Hoxie, Danika Hoxie and his great grand children; Messiah Harris, Aaliyah Harris, Trinity McNeely and Zoey Gonzalez. William is also survived by 5 siblings. William will be missed by his family and friends and his memories will always be cherished.
