Willie Thomas' Obituary
Willie “Po Boy” Thomas was born on October 8, 1942 in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Rev. Otis Thomas Sr. and Emma Owens Thomas. He was the youngest of four children born to this union. The family relocated to San Diego, California in 1952. Willie was a student of the San Diego Unified School District, graduating from Lincoln High School.Willie had many hobbies, he was always taking apart something and putting it back together again. He was a die-hard Raiders fan, and the King of dominoes, he loved relaxing by his self-made ponds in his backyard. Willie had an infectious laugh and loved to crack jokes. Willie worked for Montgomery Ward as a mechanic for ten years until he became disabled, to which he became the family fix it man.Willie was married to Judie Wafer on December 22, 1969. Through this union he was blessed with a son Willie “Pooch” Thomas Jr. Through another union with Katherine White he was blessed with a son Jaron Thomas and a daughter Rowena Thomas. Willie was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle to his family who he loved so much.Willie was preceded in death by his father Rev. Otis Thomas, his mother Emma Thomas, sister Fanerine Thomas, brother Otis Thomas Jr. and sister Theresa Banks.He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Judie Thomas; three loving children: Willie Thomas Jr., Jaron Thomas and Rowena Thomas, all of San Diego; two grandchildren Zciriyah Thomas and Lauryn Thomas and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews and loving friends to mourn his passing.
