Yoshie attended Sendacho Primary School in Hiroshima from 1936-1939, then transferred to Kihonbeshi Primary School in Dairen, Kwantong Province, China from 1939-1942. The family then transferred to Quonset Point, RI, where two additional children were born—Ronald and Francina. After relocating to Norfolk, VA in 1960, they moved to San Diego, CA in 1962 to establish their roots. It was in San Diego that she joined the Reiyukai of America and became the leader of her group and performed administrative duties for that branch of the organization. She was a very inspirational person and formed long lasting friendships and earned the respect of the members.
