Yvonne Aline Donaldson's Obituary
Yvonne was born Aline Yvonne Prather on Tuesday December 31st 1935, New Year’s Eve. It was not long before everyone knew her as Yvonne or Vonnie. She joined her Mom Margaret & Dad Hubert who were so in love with their new baby girl and so excited to bring her home to their tiny house in Oklahoma. In 1946 they moved to California where her dad got a job on Hooper’s Chicken Ranch in El Cajon. The job included a large ranch house to live in. She was later joined by 2 brothers, Terry & Paul. She graduated from Grossmont High School & later married Ron Donaldson. They had 2 children Ronna Kay in 1957 & Johnny in 1958. In 1971 she went to school on a local United States Navy installation & became a licensed Registered Dental Assistant. She worked for Dr. William Thompson for over 20 years. She was so proud of her achievement & loved helping people with their dental needs. She dearly loved God, her family & her friends! She also loved Square Dancing, Elvis, Travel & In & Out Double Double’s with grilled onions. She & her best friend Alexandra loved to take long driving vacations up California’s coast. They both enjoyed the art communities & the beauty of the ocean. She was always so excited to tell everyone that Brandy, her 1st grandchild was born on her 38th birthday. She loved Brandy so much! Brandy’s sweet & caring heart was always there to help her with medications, bathing & sharing stories of everything from family to movies to cooking to entertainment & more. Her 2nd Grandchild Blake was the light of her life! Blake would keep her involved in deep philosophical conversations. She adored her Great Grandchildren Hunter, Makenna & Melia. They kept her heart full of fun & full of love! After 80 years of loving we lost our sweet Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt & Friend on September 1st 2016. Yvonne will always be loved in every person’s heart that she touched. There will be a Viewing on Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Greenwood’s Salli Lynn Chapel.
