March 20, 1948 - June 14, 2022
Celia Manriquez Treviño was a strong woman with a dedicated and kind heart. She was born on March 20th, 1948 in San Antonio Baja California Sur Mexico. Her father was José Manriquez Mendez and her mother Rosa Edith Manriquez Ruiz. She loved to be active, to go out and see the world growing up. She traveled all over Mexico, seeing all the sites and learning it’s history. She worked hard and helped her family a lot, which was always important to her. She married in 1982 to Leopold Treviño Jr. and had two sons, Marco Polo Treviño and Christian Deonicio Treviño. She decided to stay at home and raise both of us, to instill a good foundation for us and good morals. She did everything to protect us and always fought hard to make sure we were ok. She went through a number of traumas but didn’t allow it to deter her from doing what was best for us. Her faith was always strong in God, even when all seemed lost, she held onto Him throughout everything. Even though situations separated all of us, God blessed us to reunite and live together again in 2006. For 16 years we were together again. She always wanted to do more for us, even when we asked not to, but she found joy and happiness in serving us. She loved window shopping and finding the best deals in any store she went to. She would go out and walk all day, going from store to store or just to be outside. Seaport village was always a spot she would like to go just to enjoy the weather. I believe it was because it reminded her of where she grew up in La Paz Baja California Sur. She is irreplaceable! All the way to the end she kept her faith in God and believed in a miracle. The cancer hit her hard but she fought it and we were blessed to have her for the time we did. Our mom was loved by many and she always conveyed a sense of grace wherever she went. There is just not enough words to truly express who our mom was! We could always count on her for everything and she gave us strength when we thought we had none. She will never be forgotten and I pray we can live up to the example she showed us!
