Johnnie James England was born August 18th in 1944 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. His birth parents were Willie England and Regina Collins. He was married to the late Rosemary Green England. He spent his formative years in Vicksburg before moving to Gary, Indiana where he worked for U.S. Steel. He eventually relocated to San Diego, California. He found gainful and rewarding employment at the San Diego Convention Center from which he retired. His remaining years were spent enjoying his family. He was a very wise man with a beautiful spirit. He loved studying the word of God, which he passed on in every conversation he had with his children. He had a positive impact on anyone that had the pleasure of crossing his path. He loved to dress and had quite the reputation of being a sharp dresser. He was a huge fan of western movies. In his own words, he wrote “Whatever you do, do not repress how you feel. Mourning is expressed in different ways, according to different cultures and based upon different religious beliefs, it is good if you feel like weeping. Remember Jesus wept which showed us that weeping is a normal reaction to the death of a loved one.” He is survived by one living sister, Mrs. Dorothy Smith-Warren and his children Michael Green (Cheryl Green), Dr. Robert Green (Dr. Wilma Green), Michcell England, Frankie England, Carla England, Anthony England, Dr. Regina Willis, Linda England, Christopher England, Olicia England and Willette England. He has a total of 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
