I served on the USS George Washington with Aryand. Him and I showed up to the ship within two weeks of each other. He was always a positive presence and one of the few people in a pretty negative environment who always seemed happy. We had nicknames for each other, I'd call him M'Craeg and he'd call me Willy and we'd always have passing conversations that for me, were a rare happy moment, which was much needed on that ship. Aryand was a loyal friend, impressively positive, and he will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of serving with him. RIP, M'Craeg - Your friend, Willy.
