Christine Hobson's Obituary
Christine (Fontes) Hobson was born on May 15,1949 in Brockton, Massachusetts, the eldest of two daughters of Dominga (Santos) and Joseph Fontes. She was raised in Hanson, Massachusetts and graduated from Whitman-Hanson High School in 1967 with an award for never missing a day of school. Chris moved to San Diego and was employed by the San Diego Unified School District as a school clerk for more than 20 years. She worked at the custodial substitute desk for most of her career, and most recently at Rolando Park Elementary School, until she retired. Chris enjoyed life, and loved to laugh. She especially loved playing the slot machines in downtown Las Vegas and made frequent trips to the local casinos. She also enjoyed shopping, music and just having fun with her husband, family, and friends. Chris was the person you could count on when you needed someone to talk to or laugh with or you needed someone to make you feel cared about and understood. She meant so much to so many people, she was truly “a good friend” to all of her friends. She is survived, and loved dearly, by her husband and soulmate Joseph Stevens, her mother Dominga Fontes, her sister Debra Jean Fontes, Richard Hobson father of her sons Richard Vincent Hobson Jr. and Derek Rendell Joseph Hobson/ Sylvester Taylor father of her son Rashad Taylor, stepson Lonnell Stevens, grandsons Joseph and Christian Hobson, along with many relatives and friends in New England and California, too numerous to name. Chris was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Fontes.
