It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Demitrius James Phillip "DJ" Hernandez of El Cajon, California. Born August 7th, 1989, DJ died on June 20th, 2026, in Alpine, California. He is survived by his mother Renay Hernandez, father Ronald Hernandez, brother Aron Hernandez (and sister-in-law Carrie), sister Shena Hernandez, niece Savanna Orr, nephew Ronnie Orr, sister Cori Brown, girlfriend Ashlie Fry, family, and friends. DJ was preceded in death by his biological father, Richard Brown, grandparents, and relatives from all sides of his family. DJ grew up in El Cajon until 2002 when he relocated to Hemet, California. He graduated from Hemet High School, class of 2007. DJ loved his family and girlfriend Ashlie, fishing, camping, visiting national parks, fine food, family gatherings, gaming, and having a good time. All who knew DJ knew he had a kind soul and always made time for those he loved. DJ will live in our hearts and memories forever.
