I met Diane in the early Spring of 1972 at a Squadron Wives Mtg. when both our husbands (Joe Croteau and Rob Meyer) were both attached to VRF-32, Diane and I discovered we were both expecting babies in December. We also learned that we lived very near each other! That was the beginning of a friendship that spanned Many years until we lost touch with each other in 1992 when my husband Rob was transferred to Fort Worth TX.
Diane and I became very close friends as navy wives as we both sang in the Southwestern College Community Choir as we both shared our love of music! We attended Bible studies, praying together and helping each other throughout the pregnancy. I was her labor coach when she delivered Kristi, then I went into labor the next day and gave birth to my first child, Jason Meyer. We were assigned the same hospital room, so our friendship deepened our shared faith experience. We enjoyed fellowshipping and visiting with Diane and Joe and their two adorable daughters, Melissa and Kristi. We were both transferred to different duty stations with the Navy. We continued to see each other over the years as San Diego was our home base. I also taught school with Diane at Bonita Academy and we remained close as our children grew up until 1992.
I had the extreme pleasure of finding Melissa on Facebook around Spring if 2014 and was able to visit Diane and enjoy luncheon with Melissa, Kristi and her! It was wonderful to see her again and her two lovely daughters and grandson!
I am saddened to learn of her passing from this world but I rejoice that she is with the Lord and I know I’ll see her again!
I pray for Melissa, Kristi and her son during this time of grief for the Lord to enfold them in His loving arms and surround them with His Comfort, Strength and Grace!
