While I didn't get to spend as much time with Don I would have liked, I will always cherish the time that I did get to spend with him. I have multiple early good memories from when he would hang out with our family. Whenever Don was around it was always a good time. Even at a young age I clearly remember being impressed with his energy and kindness. Don no doubt was always a very wholesome and positive person. About twelve years ago my family went out to dinner with him, and without any occasion or anything Don bought me a huge super soaker. I don't think I'm ever going to forget that super soaker. Five years ago or so my dad and I were visiting Don and the fact that I play clarinet was brought up in passing conversation. As soon as Don found out about this he rushed me to a room in his house where he had a few instruments, one of which was a clarinet. Without hesitation he insisted that I have it. Granted, these are just minor examples of Don's generosity. Don's generosity was on a level that I had never seen before and haven't seen since, and probably will not ever see again. It was clear that this came from a deep love and care that he carried for his fellow man. We truly lost a great man and a good friend who can never be replaced in any sense of the word.

We can't believe Don is gone; what a wonderful person and amazing friend. We spent many wonderful times with Don and his family. He was truly so kind and generous, and so interested in other people, always wanting to bless others, and ready to spend time with and mentor others. He was great fun to be with. One memorable time we had with Don and Debbie was when we went to Las Vegas for one of the Consumer Electronic Shows..we went to see Siegfried and Roy; and were told it was sold out. Bob and Don then spoke to the box office and somehow not only got us in, but seated us in an extra row they added at the last minute right on the front of the stage!! We also shared great times in Big Bear w/ Don and his family. I know my husband Bob so highly looked up to Don, and they shared a lot of dinners out talking, business deals, and just visits. I remember when Don had to be in the hospital, he always had a kind word for the various staff members, no matter what their job was..and even passed out Starbucks cards to encourage them! That was who he was, consistently. What an exemplary kindness he had. He will be sorely missed. From Nicolee Nourani
I lost a very good long term friend. I'm sure he is in a better place now since he was suffering in a lot of pain and isn't anymore. I still cannot believe that Don is gone.
I met him about 37 years ago, and I'm glad I did because I have hundreds and thousands of good memories from him. He always wanted to help others and never expected anything in return. Also, he was a very good passenger side driver. Anytime I took him somewhere, he always told me different ways to get to the places I was going to. Since I'm a little bit stubborn too, I always didn't allow him to win.
Don was more high tech than the average person I knew. When I owned my telecom company, Don was my first customer to purchase two fax machines from me in the early '80s. I still remember the manufacture and model number: Minolta 1600. In those days, 98% of people in San Diego didn't know what a fax machine was. He always had newer computer camcorders, printers, etc. for his family and himself.
Don had a very good heart and was a very special, unique, and sincere person and I don't think I will have a friend again like him with all of his good qualities. One of the best birthday parties I went to in my whole life was Don's 40th surprise birthday party, arranged in a very nice, entertaining and clever way by Debbie. I remember all of the details about that party which was very special and unique. I gave him two birthday presents. One of them I cannot say in this message. The second one was a steering wheel lock, since he used to park his car in some average/ worse than average neighborhoods when he performed his landlord duties, or serviced and collected money from payphones.
I don't want to make this message too long, but once again I lost a very good friend and I wish his two sons and family the best.

Don was a great big brother. He hardly ever teased me! Ha Ha! I have so many fond memories and always loved watching him from a distance. Everything he did in my eyes seemed so cool. We were a distance apart in age so our lives were so different but he always took me along and included me when I asked. He was very driven and focused and I admired that so much. My brother was very generous and kind and loved to talk and be around others. He had a big heart and loved to share the Lord with others.
His presence will be missed but he is always in my heart! Robyn
