I remember how proud my Grandma was when I completed my Bachelor’s degree. Despite living at opposite ends of the country, she was always present at major mile stones in my life.
I remember back in early grade school. My mom was so proud of me. She took me to the store and let me pick out a book. I chose a Christmas pop-up book. I loved that book, but what I really loved, was her smile and the pride on my mom’s face because I did good in school.

I remember Oya Eden whenever we have our Matnoganon Baragat, or when I go to San Diego for gatherings. Oya Eden is a woman that stands out for her quiet demeanor and gentle smile that speaks more than words. She commands respect by being herself. A saying goes that you will know the tree by its fruits. The fruits that she spread around is goodness and love. Faith, Hope, and, Love, and the best of them is Love because God is Love.
