Emilio Brionez's Obituary
Emilio Brionez passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 a his daughter’s home in Washington, UT. He was born on May 22, 1923 to Claro Briones and Paz Verdeja Briones. He married his sweetheart, Victoria Abaroa on April 18, 1942.
Emilio went to Memorial Junior High. There he met Victoria through her brother Ray Abaroa. They lived a block away and then they lived next door to each other. He liked to say “he married girl next door.”
Emilio served in World War II in the China Berma India Campaign. When the war was over, he decided to go back and finish his schooling finally getting his AA degree. He went to work as a civilian for the federal government at North Island. When he retired from that job he went to work with Vickie at the Palomar’s Book Store and retired from there. Shortly after his beloved wife, Vickie passed away. It was a great loss for him.
He was a faithful member of the Church of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Vickie and Emilio served in the San Diego Temple as workers in the baptistry. Three years later he married Cecilia Carrillo.
He is survived by his daughters Victoria Vance (Dennis), Elisa Felley (Michael), his sons Philip (Susan), who preceded him in death and Michael John (Mark Partal) and his wife Cecilia Carrillo and 19 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in the chapel at Greenwood. Graveside service will follow.
