Helen Louise Syphers' Obituary
Helen Louise Syphers was the 13th of 14 children born to Charles Augustus Ward and Edna Leona Daugherty. She was the last surviving child of the Ward family; being born January 11, 1922, just 4 days after her future husband, Robert Lee Syphers, who passed away 18 December, 2012. Helen passed peacefully on 14 March 2016 in Poway, San Diego County, California, at the age of 94.Both Helen and Bob were born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia, were high school sweet hearts, and married on 29 June, 1941. She followed Bob around the country as the air force moved him from base to base during WWII.. They had daughter, Roberta Lee, born in 1943, and son, Robert Lee, born in 1946, both born in Wheeling. Sunny skies drew them to San Diego, California, and their third daughter, Rebecca Louise, was born there in 1951.Helen worked in San Diego and North San Diego County, retired at age 55 and then travelled the country, east to west, top to bottom, with Bob. They resided in Mira Mesa after their travels, and finally in Poway.They are survived by their 3 children, 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great, grandchildren. May she and Bob be at peace in the eternities, always together, as they were in life.
