Henry "Buddy" Delaney Young, Jr.'s Obituary
Henry Delaney Young, Jr., known to all as "Buddy" was born on October 6, 1942 to proud parents Henry Delaney Young, Sr. and Elinor Smith Young. He was the first of three children. As a youth, he was a boy scout and served as a crucifer at his local church, and there he learned to play the piano.
Buddy attended Jacox Junior High school, Booker T. Washington High School and Lincoln University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
After graduation he began a career as a manager in the radio divisions of RCA. He also served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969 during the Vietnam war, then enlisted in the Reserves until 1972. He received an National Defense Service Medal.
Buddy lived in Washington, D.C., New York, N.Y and San Diego, California. Buddy was also a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
In 2005, Buddy retired from NBC( National Broadcasting Company) after 37 years of employment. He worked as Senior Facility Project Manager. Although retired, he still was involved as a consultant for facility project until 2017.
He was married to the late Betsy W. Young and currently to Carmen Aurea Figueroa Young.
Buddy was a devoted husband, dedicated brother, loyal friend, compassionate, with a great sense of humor. He loved listening to jazz, photography, architectural design and traveling. His favorite was any and everything to do with railroad trains models.
Buddy was greatly loved and dearly missed by his devoted wife; Carmen Aurea Figueroa Young, two sisters; Lillian "CeCe" Young Carter, Sheryl Eugene Young and a host of nephews and nieces, as well as a host of other loved ones. He will be greatly missed.
