“Life” is the book we will never quite finish because there are so many pages to be written and we’re never quite sure when it will end or how it will end – but we, as Christians, know God keeps his promises and we, too, like Jean, shall be with Him. Jean was my friend, my confidant, my soulmate and cohort. I shall miss her dearly and the loss of contact with one so very dear. She was comfortable and game to do just about anything and virtually liked everything about life. Jean was a healthy fulfilled person, proud of her family, loyal to her friends, and devoted to her beloved Ed. I will always treasure our together time – doing patrols, shopping, casino trips, GNO’s (Girls Nights Out), and long, long chats – so many, many of those. Deb, I am so very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a special person to me-she seemed to always be there while I was growing up. As an adult, I sincerely enjoyed the many visits we spent together-both on the dock and in the camp! I always looked forward to seeing her each year. I will miss her terribly. To me, she was a wonderful lady, whom I grew to love as a “Mom” figure up at the lake. You and the rest of the family have been and continue to be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I love you all. Mom, We had made so many plans and we thought we had all the time in the world to get to it all. Intellectually, I knew that with you at age ninety, we would have to look at time as a precious commodity, but I really never worried that we wouldn’t have many more years together. But that dreaded cancer came and brought all our wonderful plans to a halt. It all happened all to fast. We’d just celebrated your 90th birthday in March…later than expected but what a wonderful day it was! And here we are three months later planning your funeral! I am devastated that you are gone but I couldn’t bear to have you suffering any more and I’m happy that you were ready when God called you home on Tuesday. I know you are there in heaven with your Mom and Dad and Barbara and John, the babies you had that didn’t survive. I know how happy you are to be with them again. You are now my special angel in heaven and I look forward to feeling your loving presence in those quiet moments of prayer and seeing your smiling face in my dreams. I hope you know how much I love you.
