La Virgia Bryant-Wright's Obituary
Virgie was born in a small steel producing town of Westfield, Alabama to the late Frank and Daisy Nesbitt. She was the fifth oldest of six siblings.Virgie received her High School Diploma from Westfield High of Alabama. She then went on to further her education at Miles College of Fairfield, Alabama. After graduating from Miles, Virgie attended Pepperdine University where she received her Masters degree in Multicultural Education and also certification in Social Work with the State of Florida where she was employed for a few years.Virgie later married Carl Bryant and from this union one son was born, Mark Bryant. In 1969, they relocated to San Diego, CA. She began her career in education with San Diego City Schools where she was an Elementary school teacher for 33 years until retirement. After retirement Virgie’s love for children kept her volunteering in the classroom at Johnson Elementary for many years. She also loved camping, traveling, shopping and hosting extravagant gatherings. She was a great friend and sister to those she loved and would do anything to lift ones spirit.In February of 1985, Virgie married Archie Wright and created many great memories up until she was called home on December 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Daisy Nesbitt, brother’s Frank Jr. and Jimmie Lee and sister Betty Ruth.Virgie leaves to mourn her husband Archie Wright, son mark Bryant (Diane), step-son Kenneth Wright (Shannon), Granddaughters Markia, Shamontae (Lanell Sr.), Kacie and Natalie. Great-grandchildren Aniya, Ahmad, Ahmar, Douglas, Sole’ and Lanell Jr., all of San Diego, CA. She also leaves to mourn her sisters, Charlie Mae of Detroit, MI and Helen Hughes of Birmingham, AL, her special childhood friend Vateness Wesson of San Diego, CA and godson Rodney Aguillard of San Diego, CA, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
