Dearest Gary, I am very saddened by the passing of your Mother. In our decades of friendship we have shared so much. But the loss of one who has been so significant, is truly hard to reconcile. So many memories to comfort us. I will never eat another Ghirardelli milk chocolate square with caramel filling without thinking sweet thoughts of Leone. Dearest Gary, Doug and I are so very sorry for your loss. Leone was a big part of my adolescent years as she was so close to my Mom (who is already resting in peace.) Luckily, Doug was able to meet Leone on more than one occasion and he enjoyed getting to know her. I feel certain that Leone and my Mom, Mary, have already reunited out in the Cosmos. They are no doubt having fun at casinos and social events where they are imbibing in fine wines. When they aren't doing that, they are leaders in some sort of cause for the good. I am sure they know that you and I will always have each other's backs as we have since childhood. I can picture them rolling their eyes at some of the stunts we used to pull. Dear Gary, I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words at a time like this. I am glad we were able to go to Thanksgiving dinner together with your Mom. I didn't know she was a teacher.
